StoryCode Starts at NEST+m

February 18, 2015

In October of 2014, StoryCode became the high school programming curriculum at New Explorations into Science, Technology and Math, NYC's only public K-12 gifted and talented school, when I was very rapidly hired to teach computer science, digital media arts and game design.

This school year presents an amazing opportunity to see how StoryCode works with a set of students who could no doubt do quite well with a more classic, math-based introduction to programming. The most important work of StoryCode at NEST+m may turn out to be imbuing fiction with the same glamor and value students perceive in their STEM studies.
